Raise the Region was a success! Thank you to those who contributed! We at West Branch School strive to continually provide the best possible education a child could receive. These funds will help us with many things, including obtaining school supplies for our students and teachers, assist upkeep with our older, yet beautiful, facility, and pay our teachers who dedicate so much to these wonderful kids. Every contribution, large and small, has helped us reach our goals.
Sandy Elion and Steve Hulslander Scholarship Fund
Sandra H. Elion was a 33-year teacher here at WBS. Her dedication to our educational program was exceptional. She entered retirement in 2011.
Steve Hulslander was a 40-year teacher at WBS. His years of service to hundreds of students and families over that time is unprecedented. He retired in January of 2015.
The guidelines to their fund are below.
The primary purpose of the Sandy Elion and Steve Hulslander Scholarship Fund is to ensure that West Branch School students may continue to attend West Branch School when unforeseen or sudden financial circumstances would not be sufficiently tempered by regular West Branch School financial assistance policies.
The fund is expected to build when not needed in any year, and priorities in decision-making are to be made by the finance committee and teachers in consultation, if possible, with Sandy and Steve. Priorities should be directed toward longer-term students rather than new entrants.
Each year, WBS students of all ages put on a play. Our K-2 grade age students perform at our school one week after our 3-6 grade age students perform at the local community theater, the Community Theater League (CTL). Each play takes much effort from teachers and families to create props, make costumes, design playbills, and run the production at the theatre and the school. Costs are also incurred for these things, including renting the theatre. Donations may be made towards our play fund to help offset these costs. We also accept donations in certain increments in exchange for your name and/or business logo in our playbills. Click the button to donate to our Play Fund, or click here for more information about our playbill sponsorship program.
West Branch prides itself on keeping tuition as low as possible to make it affordable to any family who wishes to enroll their child here. The biggest part of the school's operating budget comes from tuition payments. Making a general fund donation helps us buy things like school supplies for the students and teachers, maintenance supplies, and basic necessities. Anything from pencils to cleaning supplies can be purchased with general fund contributions, and it is very helpful to our annual budget. Click the button below to help support our general fund!
